I had been looking for something that I could replace my Burt's Bees chapstick with and that's when I started hearing a lot of good things about the Maybelline Baby Lips Moisturizing Lip Balm. Although I have religiously used Burt's Bees for the last few years, I had started to feel that it was a little too thick for me. I think it does work wonders and does help with chapped lips, but I felt like I had something thick on my lips and I wanted something lighter.
So I got the Baby Lips balm in Cherry Me. It was $2.97 for the stick and the packaging is really cute with large lettering on the clear case with a bright colored base.
It has a light texture that faintly smells like cherries and acts almost like a stain with its color. Its lipstick-sized structure makes for easy application and the product glides on smoothly.
I am very pleased with it so far because it does not feel sticky and the glossy sheen helps to finish off the look without any need to apply a lip gloss.
I am pretty confident I will be repurchasing this, especially as a gift and I would like to try out the clear one (Quenched or Peppermint) because I like to prep my lips for lipstick or gloss using a balm and that's the only drawback with the Cherry Me because it is already tinted.
Pros: Light texture, smooth application, light and glossy tint, inexpensive.
Cons: Cannot use tinted flavors as a universal base for all lip products.
